Policy Research and Advocacy

Liaison Corporation advocates for public policies, programs and services that empower and improves the wellbeing of communities within Pakistan. In addition to the above, LC undertakes policy research, with the aim of suggesting appropriate policy reforms. Different research tools are applied for this purpose including policy briefs, assessments, white papers, surveys, citizens’ report card, and situation reports. Policy Advocacy is an expanding area of LC’s work and a critical catalyst for achieving sustainable development goals. The process of policy advocacy encompasses policy dialogue, seminars, roundtables, consultations, and workshops under different thematic areas. In recent years, LC has ensured that public voice is present in both the provincial and national policy arenas.

Community Engagement & Mobilization

Liaison Corporation since its inception, has been striving for the emancipation and empowerment of the underprivileged groups in society along with advocating the rights of marginalized communities. We at LC envision a world where everyone is treated equally and respectfully; where they are able to live a life free from harm; where they have the tools, they need to determine their own future and fulfill their potential.

Capacity Building

Liaison Corporation believes in the idea that capacity-building ‘is the process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world.’ This specific area of work focuses on developing the necessary set of skills to empower communities to become autonomous and to engage them as valued social actors. In this context, Liaison Corporation has contrived programs focusing on literacy and life skills, employability skills, in both green and social sectors, civic and intercultural skills alongwith building the capacity of youth across the country as a mean to ensure sustainable interventions and in-country capacity development.

Networking, Partnerships & Associations

In this context, Liaison Corporation is creating developmental services, opportunities, and supports for community along with community-wide effort to educate and activate all sectors, from government to business, from not-for-profit human services to voluntary groups and individuals for sharing expertise, resources, and responsibility to achieve the goal of empowerment & sustainable development.

Research & Publications

This specific area of work is aligned within the research lifecycle with specific focus on research support services for planning, project management, publishing, and impact analysis to increase the visibility and reuse of research and foster innovation. Much of our research is conducted within the community by our multi-disciplinary team who plan, implement the appropriate approach for intervention and shape solutions that help to sustainable outcome.

Corporate Social Responsibility

LC believes in strong commitment towards social & economic development of the region as a Corporate Social Responsibility and hence contributes significantly in various areas to achieve this commitment. Youth Development, Governance and Institutional Capacity Building are areas of investments as pay back to the society for improving the living standards of the locals and ensuring sustainability in policies and development.

Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030)

LC is a true adherent to United Nations commitments and fully endorses all the steps for attaining Sustainable Development Goals while specifically targeting Agenda 2020. Few of the focused SDGs LC is working since the beginning are:

  • Equality: Gender Justice & Women Empowerment

The importance of gender equality and young women empowerment; is at the core of LC’s mandate. We believe that women are key agents of change and when women and men are equal, economies grow faster; less people remain in poverty and the overall well-being of people increases. LC is committed to eliminating all sorts of social evils existing and prevailing in society. It has ensured equal participation of both men and women in all the projects implemented up till now across Pakistan including the underdeveloped areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It’s thrust on the given theme is propelled by the philosophy that sustainable development is hard to achieve without equal participation of women and men in political, social, and economic life.

  • Youth Empowerment

Through the youth mobilization component, LC has successfully engaged and mobilized youth in diverse activities across the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad alongwith the Merged Areas of KP. This includes literate & illiterate youth, enrolled students, private students, and vulnerable youth. Mass mobilization of youth towards sustainable development requires empowering youth with information on the impacts of their daily choices and actions, while tapping into their creativity and determination to find workable and innovative solutions and alternatives. Also, LC has implemented various soft skill trainings programs covering numerous areas in the domains/ areas of Leadership Skills, Management Skills, and Communications Skills for increasing the youth employability for ensuring youth empowerment and youth development to the fullest.

  • Education

Recognizing the power of education, Liaison Corporation considers it as one of the basic factors which play a vital role in the development of a country. We believe that empowerment starts with education, whether formal or informal. LC has empowered young people to make choices in their employment opportunities by providing them numerous educational platforms in the past couple of years. In addition to above, Education also combats unemployment, confirms sound foundation of social equity, awareness, tolerance, self-esteem, spread of political socialization and cultural vitality.

  • Climate Change, Environmental Protection & Conservation

This specific area of work focuses on climate change, LC is working to highlight the important role that community plays in addressing climate change, and to offer suggestions on how people might be more effectively integrated as individuals and collective agents of change within the realm of climate change adaptation and mitigation.

  • Economic Development

Liaison Corporation believes in the idea that economic development is an inclusive and participatory process by which communities initiate and generate their own multiple bottom-line solutions to economic problems. Liaison Corporation focuses on stabilizing local economies; creating long-term employment; building on local resources and capacities; increasing community control & ownership and economic health of the environment to ensure “Poverty Alleviation” and attain the goal of “Zero Hunger”.

  • Good Health & Well Being

This area of work focuses on the concept and practice of community-centered approaches for health and wellbeing. LC to achieve its vision of the best possible health and wellbeing for everyone, reiterates the importance of community-centered ways of working for all aspects of public health, including health improvement, health protection and public healthcare. The objective is not about expecting communities to do more but it is about investing in more sustainable and effective approaches to reduce health inequalities.

  • Peace & Justice (Social & Religious Harmony)

LC is working on the marginalized communities of the society since the beginning with a special focus on the persons with disabilities, deprived young women, religious minorities, and religious seminaries. LC is playing a vital role in bridging the gap between very religious groups and social communities for improving the Inter Faith & Inter Sectoral Harmony alongmwith developing the environment of mutual co-existence.
